While we can’t show you the exact model of hob that is right for you, we can offer some help deciding which to choose. Size Neff is known for its high-quality kitchen appliances, and this induction hob is certainly no exception to this.

So, if you factor these costs into your budget, your debit card won’t scream as loudly when you’re paying.

Having mentioned cost above, we’re going to do it again now too. If you have a budget for your induction hob, always, always include the installation costs in that budget. Especially if the island is a little bit shallower than normal. This is where I’ve used them the most in my kitchen designs!

The Samsung NZ64K5747BK may be the oldest hob on our list, having been released some five years ago, but it’s still a handy mid-range induction option even today. For more about induction hobs, see our ' what is an induction hob and how does it work?' guide. Induction hob power requirementsOther benefits include the fact that induction hobs are easier to clean than either gas or ceramic, controllable heat means pans very rarely boil over anyway, and an absence of a naked flame means there is a reduced risk of fire.

This handsome slab has 90cm of meal estate and five-zone flex induction for convenience and outright efficiency. In fact, this model’s induction system is one of the very best because cooking zones are automatically connected depending on where you place the cookware – they can also be connected manually if required. This is a great system for all styles of cookware, including rectangular roasting tins and teppanyaki trays. It may sound obvious but remember that these hobs are wider than your standard 60cm induction hob. Make sure you have sufficient space in your countertop to accommodate some of these extra-wide models. It’s a hob that doesn’t feature more traditional distinct burner rings, but instead offers a pair of Flex Zones that can also be combined to offer a single, much larger zone that’s ideal for square dishes and larger grill plates. The controls on offer are along the bottom edge, with plus and minus symbols for cycling through the nine power zones. In addition, this Indesit hob also comes with buttons to turn off a zone as well as putting one into max power for 5 minutes to help boil water. The IB 88B60 NE also comes with some clever Push&Go modes for this purpose – Push&Boil brings water to the boil and keeps it rolling, while the Push&Warm function is used for keeping food warm or gently reducing liquid.

What to Keep in Mind When Buying a FlexInduction Hob

So, if you have a larger pot or pan, or a roasting tray you’re trying to reduce a gravy or sauce in, the flexible zones make this nice and easy.
